It’s finally here, folks! The latest theme in the Aniom family is complete and ready for download!

An important note:
Tomorrow we will be releasing Koira Evolution, which is the same theme except with the complex matching sub-icons. Tonight’s release features clean, modified versions of the previous Aniom theme sub-icons. I feel there will be many that prefer one over the other, so two releases seems a good idea.

Ever since Sony first announced the availability of dynamic themes on the PlayStation Network, I’ve been overflowing with anticipation of a theme: one which truly sweeps me from my feet and smacks me back down to earth with its sheer complexity, style, and originality.

You can imagine my jubilation when Sony then announced partnerships with third party companies, providing both dynamic and static premium themes for just a few dollars, while leaving creativity in the hands of innovative minds! The actual partnerships at the time were with two companies,  Smobile Inc and Disruptive Publishers LLC.

After some investigation, it becomes apparent that Disruptive Publishers LLC actually just contracts artists from across the net (from communities like DeviantArt) and gives them 5% of gross sales for their original background. Disruptive then applies a vaguely related set of icons and submits the theme to Sony for inclusion on the PlayStation Network.

Today we’re pleased to announce that the Aniom series has been updated for Firmware 3.15, we would also like to announce a few other things, firstly that we will be releasing SDTV versions of both Aniom and Aniom Taiga within the next week, and in the coming month be releasing two brand new themes.

Incidentally, these will also work just fine on firmware 2.8 so there’s no reason to wait! Other than incorporating the new information bar, I’ve also tweaked the main icons to look shiny and crisp even on 720p – not just 1080p! As always, please download the version for the resolution you use, and note that if you’re running on an SD television, you can either use the 720p version (which should work fine), or wait a short while for an SD specific version.

We’d also like to provide an update for the Aniom series – currently, work on the third theme is being put on hold until the release of firmware 3.0, for internal reasons.  However, we should have 3.0 compatible versions of Aniom and Aniom Taiga (to reflect the time bar/status changes) on the day of 3.0′s release, so get us bookmarked if you haven’t already!
